A reported 40% of Americans fear public speaking more than they fear death. It’s been the experience of the team at Doso (formerly Startup Taranaki), that many Kiwis also have a dread of public speaking. But skillfully telling your brand story, or pitching your product or service, is often a necessary part of growing your business. The truth is that pitching doesn’t need to be nerve wracking. A little preparation and practice can do wonders for building your public speaking skills, your presentation effectiveness and, even more importantly, your confidence.

Doso's 90-minute Pitch Perfect workshop is a quick, hand-on introduction to pitching that will give you practice in the basics of:

• learning how to shape an engaging story

• simple techniques to build emotional rapport

• compiling an effective slide deck.

We often think of pitching as a way of securing investment, but this workshop is also helpful for other common situations that occur in any type of business – for example, presenting to potential customers or clients, or attracting team members or partners.

You’ll need to bring a laptop or tablet to the session. All other materials will be provided.
